One of the most common requests we heard from early-access customers was simple: “We already have time data in spreadsheets — can we just bring it in?”

Today, we’re shipping Bulk Time Entry Import — and it’s exactly what it sounds like.

How it works

  1. Prepare your spreadsheet. Export your time data from your existing tool (or use your own format) into a CSV or Excel file.
  2. Upload it. Drag and drop your file into the Time Entries import screen.
  3. Preview before committing. GraceSoft Desk shows you a full preview of every row before any data is saved. Spot a mistake? Fix it before it counts.
  4. Import. One click and all your entries are in — correctly attributed to projects, clients, and dates.

Why the preview step matters

We’ve seen what happens when bulk imports go wrong. You end up with hundreds of duplicate entries or incorrect project assignments that take hours to clean up.

The preview screen gives you a complete picture of what’s about to be imported — with highlighted warnings for rows that look mismatched. You stay in control.

What you can import

  • Date, start time, and end time (or duration)
  • Project and client assignment
  • Description / notes per entry
  • Team member attribution (for admin imports)

Head to Time Entries → Import in your GraceSoft Desk workspace. You’ll find a downloadable template to get you started.
